Fabricator
Job Description
The Fabricator is responsible for laying out, fitting, assembling, and fabricating stainless steel components and equipment according to engineering drawings, work orders, and quality requirements. This position works closely with welders, supervisors, and quality personnel to ensure products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and safely. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, fabrication sketches, and work instructions. Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and assemble stainless steel components and assemblies. Fabricate process piping systems, transfer panels, pressure vessels, skids, and related equipment. Prepare materials for welding, including grinding, beveling, deburring, and cleaning. Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools and inspection equipment. Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drill presses, ironworkers, plasma cutters, and other shop tools. Perform fit-up operations to ensure proper alignment and assembly prior to welding. Conduct visual inspections of fabricated assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications. Work with Quality Assurance to address non-conforming materials or assemblies. Maintain accurate production records and complete work orders as required. Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and safety standards. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Assist with installation, testing, and shop support activities as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Experience using common fabrication and measuring tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Experience fabricating stainless steel process equipment. Knowledge of sanitary tubing and hygienic process systems. Experience with pressure vessels, transfer panels, or skid-mounted equipment. Basic welding knowledge and understanding of welding symbols. Forklift and overhead crane experience.
