As we continue to grow throughout Florida and the Southeast, we are looking for an experienced Senior Landscape Estimator to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with extensive landscape construction knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a passion for building successful projects from concept to completion. The Estimator plays a critical role in securing profitable work while partnering with operations to ensure successful project execution. Position Summary The Landscape Estimator is responsible for leading the estimating process for commercial landscape construction projects from initial bid review through proposal submission. This individual will work closely with clients, landscape architects, vendors, subcontractors, and our operations team to develop accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating workflow to ensure all proposals are completed accurately and submitted before bid deadlines. Supervise and prioritize the workload of the estimating team. Partner with Operations to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to project execution. Develop and maintain strong relationships with landscape architects, general contractors, developers, municipalities, vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and recommend the most efficient construction methods. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and enter project information into estimating software. Prepare complete cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead. Define subcontractor scopes of work and distribute bid packages. Solicit, review, compare, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing. Recommend preferred subcontractors based on scope, pricing, and qualifications. Coordinate plant material pricing with purchasing and nursery suppliers. Develop value engineering alternatives that improve project value while maintaining quality standards. Prepare bid summaries and recommend pricing strategies and profit margins. Estimate change orders and additional work throughout project execution. Maintain estimating databases, production rates, and current material pricing. Provide technical guidance and pricing assistance during the preconstruction process. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of commercial landscape estimating experience. Extensive understanding of landscape installation and construction methods. Strong knowledge of plant materials and horticultural best practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong understanding of estimating principles, business mathematics, cost analysis, and financial reporting. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office. We use Aspire software for all estimating. (Cad, Word, Excel, Outlook, SketchUp and structure studios/vizterra).). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor with exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
