Job Description

What You'll Do Lead landscape architecture projects from concept through construction. Lead our landscape architecture team by establishing scopes, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and responsibilities. Collaborate closely with planners, architects, engineers, contractors, community members, agencies, and other project stakeholders. Champion sustainable, resilient, and ecologically responsive design approaches. Oversee the development and quality of deliverables, including construction documents, specifications, planting plans, and irrigation design. Translate design concepts into compelling visual narratives through hand sketching, digital graphics, presentations, writing, and community engagement. Provide effective construction administration, including contractor coordination, site observations, and responses to contractor questions and requests. Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Mentor emerging landscape architects and designers, supporting their technical and professional development. Participate in continuing education and professional development. Help expand the practice through client relationship development, proposals, business development activities, and pursuit of new and expanded opportunities. Lead and participate in community engagement activities, workshops, and user-group meetings. Build the firm's presence through active involvement in professional and community organizations.

Qualifications:

Additional strengths include:

Spanish language proficiency.

SITES or LEED credentials or experience.

Experience with public-sector, parks, trails, open space, or public lands projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master s degree in landscape architecture.

Professional Landscape Architect license with the ability to obtain licensure in New Mexico.

5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a landscape architecture firm or multidisciplinary design environment.

2 years of increasing responsibility in project management, supervision, and team leadership.

Experience developing scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates through planning, conceptual, schematic, and construction-document phases.

Experience delegating and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.

Working knowledge of construction methods, regional plant materials, specifications, and irrigation design.

Experience with construction administration and contractor coordination, including responding to RFIs and other contractor inquiries.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience with SketchUp, Lumion, or Rhino is a plus.
