Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Landscape Designer and Architect to bring visionary outdoor spaces to life. In this role, you will blend artistic creativity with technical expertise to develop sustainable, functional, and aesthetically captivating landscape designs. Your work will involve collaborating with clients, managing projects from conception through construction, and utilizing cutting-edge design tools to craft environments that inspire and endure. Duties Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts using software such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD, ensuring precision and creativity in every project. Create detailed construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for hardscape elements like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and irrigation systems. Utilize GIS tools such as ArcView and ArcGIS for land analysis, site planning, and environmental impact assessments to inform sustainable design strategies. Generate compelling renderings and hand-drawn illustrations to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and project teams. Coordinate with civil engineers, horticulturists, contractors, and clients throughout project phases to ensure seamless execution of landscape architecture plans. Conduct site surveys, land surveying activities, and land use analysis to inform accurate design development aligned with local regulations. Incorporate sustainable design practices by selecting eco-friendly materials, optimizing water efficiency through irrigation planning, and integrating native plantings for ecological resilience. Requirements Proven experience in landscape architecture or related fields with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects involving landscaping, hardscape design, and site planning. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD), 3D modeling tools (SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D), rendering programs (Adobe Photoshop), and graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite). Knowledge of civil engineering principles including Civil 3D or MicroStation for site grading and drainage planning. Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcView or ArcGIS for spatial analysis and land use planning. Hands-on construction experience with site development processes including construction estimating, documentation, and project management. Strong understanding of horticulture practices combined with the ability to select appropriate plantings for sustainability and aesthetic appeal. Excellent communication skills for client presentations, team collaboration, and managing project expectations effectively.
