The Oil & Gas Power Systems Class B Technician works with limited supervision to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Caterpillar diesel and natural gas engines, power systems, and related equipment at customer locations. This position supports customer operations by performing preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and system diagnostics in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as "One Professional Team."

Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Completes CAT service reports daily that are legible, accurate, and include appropriate SIMS codes. Transmits photos, timecards, service reports, and other required documentation electronically. Maintains accurate customer records and communicates equipment status, repairs, and recommendations. Works with the Service Department, Product Support Representatives, and Sales Department to support customer needs. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs CAT natural gas and diesel engines, generators, and power systems used in oil and gas applications. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections on power generation and oilfield equipment. Reads, understands, and applies electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service literature to repair work. Utilizes CAT diagnostic software (ET, SIS, SIS Web) to identify and resolve equipment issues. Safely removes, repairs, and installs major components and performs equipment testing to verify proper operation. Maintains tooling and service vehicle in safe working condition. Promotes Wagner Equipment Co. through professional customer interactions and quality workmanship. Other duties as assigned by manager Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience servicing diesel engines (engine systems experience required; truck/chassis experience alone is not sufficient). Basic electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic knowledge. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining individual accountability. 3+ years of experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems. Preferred Education and Experience Experience with CAT engines, generators, or power systems in oil and gas, industrial, or power generation applications. Natural gas compression equipment knowledge and experience. Experience servicing natural gas engines and related power systems. Customer service experience in a field service environment. Experience utilizing CAT ET, SIS, and SIS Web diagnostic software. Additional Eligibility Requirements Valid Driver License and acceptable driving record. DOT Health Card. Physical Demands & Competencies Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands, and hearing. Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and access equipment in various work environments. Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more. Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while utilizing CAT diagnostic software (ET, SIS, SIS Web).
