Job Description

SUMMARY:
The incumbent, under the supervision of the Director operates Landfill machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ➢ Operate heavy equipment and maintenance equipment, bulldozer, frontend loader, excavator, tractor, compactor, and skid steer as directed. Responsible for equipment and property. ➢ Preform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment. ➢ Perform manual labor duties. ➢ Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned. ➢ Be able to pass exams to obtain Solid Waste License.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, one year experience is preferred but not mandatory. Must be able to pass exam for state solid waste license. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Needs to be familiar with heavy equipment and be able to follow specifications and instructions. Must be able to communicate with public and co-workers effectively. Some mechanical experience/training is beneficial. The incumbent must be in good physical condition. Some problem solving when addressing some maintenance issues.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth perception vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Pay:
$17.25 - $18.64 per hour
