Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver Confidential San Pablo, CA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Over the road (OTR) driving routes Vehicle recovery towing Motorcycle towing CDL A Tow truck Truck towing DOT Physical Certification Individual consumer customer service Manual transmission Flatbed Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Heavy Duty Tow Operator (Class A CDL Required) Richmond, CA | Full-Time The Role We are looking for a skilled Class A operator who can run a heavy wrecker with confidence. You'll handle heavy-duty tows and recoveries, including big rigs, buses, RVs, and commercial equipment, at accident scenes, roadside, and on law enforcement calls. When no active heavy-duty calls are pending, you'll also handle light and medium-duty tows and roadside assistance. What You'll Do Operate the heavy wrecker safely and efficiently for tows, recoveries, and uprights Handle light and medium-duty tows. Provide roadside assistance, such as jump starts, lockouts, and tire changes. Respond to accident scenes and law enforcement calls, and work professionally with CHP, police, and first responders Rig and secure loads correctly with chains, straps, winches, and recovery equipment Assess each scene and choose the safest, most effective recovery plan Keep dispatch and customers updated with accurate ETAs Take part in the on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays Requirements Valid California Class A CDL Hands-on experience operating a heavy-duty wrecker Driving record that meets our insurance and rotation-list requirements Current DOT medical certificate Flexible Schedule Pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol testing Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, including outdoor work in all weather and handling heavy recovery equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation Professional attitude and respect for customers Experience with commercial and over-the-road recoveries Major Plus Rotator experience.
