Job Description

Great team. Serious equipment. No two days are the same. Ski Country Auto Repair and Towing is looking for a Heavy-Duty Tow Truck Operator to join our team in Frisco, Colorado. We're looking for more than someone who can drive a truck. We want a dependable, mechanically minded person who takes pride in their work, stays calm when things get difficult, and understands that great towing is about taking care of people as much as it is moving vehicles. Heavy-duty towing experience and a CDL are preferred, but they are not required for the right person. If you have strong mechanical ability, good judgment, a solid driving background, and the willingness to learn, we are willing to train you. What You'll Be Doing Our operators handle everything from everyday breakdowns to challenging recoveries in Colorado mountain conditions.
You will:
Safely operate heavy-duty towing and recovery equipment Respond to breakdowns, accidents, recoveries, and roadside calls Work in mountain conditions including snow, ice, steep grades, and changing weather Assess situations and determine the safest and most effective way to complete the job Work with customers, law enforcement, roadside assistance providers, commercial fleets, and our internal team Perform pre-trip and equipment inspections Help identify basic mechanical problems in the field Properly secure and transport vehicles and equipment Maintain clean, professional trucks and equipment Complete service documentation accurately Follow company and industry safety procedures Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Are dependable and take showing up seriously Have strong mechanical aptitude Enjoy working with trucks, equipment, and machinery Can troubleshoot problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them Stay calm and make good decisions under pressure Take safety seriously Treat customers and coworkers with respect Are comfortable working independently Still understand that you are part of a team Take pride in your truck, equipment, appearance, and work Are willing to learn and continue improving your skills Qualifications Valid driver's license with a good driving record CDL Class A or B preferred Towing, commercial driving, diesel, automotive, equipment, or mechanical experience preferred Mechanical aptitude is important Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of towing and recovery work Comfortable working outdoors in Colorado weather conditions Availability for a combination of daytime, nighttime, on-call, and emergency work Must be able to pass required drug testing, including random testing Must meet applicable company insurance and driving requirements Don't Have Heavy-Duty Towing Experience? That does not automatically rule you out. Some of the best operators come from mechanical, trucking, equipment, construction, diesel, automotive, or similar hands-on backgrounds.
