Rotating shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night/weekends/holidays) Coke Operators will service the PBF refinery by safely handling petroleum coke from refinery operations to shipping. Responsibilities /
Job Duties:
Operate 966 CAT loader and bobcat to manage stockpile of petroleum coke
Load trucks with petroleum coke per DOT weight specifications
Perform preventative maintenance on conveyor systems used to transport the product throughout the refinery, such as greasing rollers and inspections as well as assist maintenance with large maintenance projects
Monitor the control panel of the coke operating system to ensure proper inventory levels, safe product movement, and appropriate moisture content per EPA regulations
Transport petroleum coke throughout the refinery by operating a system of conveyor belts, a condenser, and pug mills
Operate a shuttle wagon to safely position railcars for loading, weighing, and shipment
Operate the rail load out control system
General maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning, housekeeping, minor railcar repair such as replacing safety chains, and other maintenance activities
Take an active role in safety program including attendance to all safety meetings, adhere to procedures and ensure safe behaviors of self and coworkers
Communicate with dispatch regarding railcar movements
Complete paperwork accurately
Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
Proficient in operating large heavy equipment; experience with front-end loaders preferred
Understands, or is willing and able to learn, safe railroad operations
Basic computer skills: data entry, email, review reports
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Positive attitude and a good team member
Must pass a pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report, and criminal background check
Must possess or qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card)
Must be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job-related coursework. This includes, but it not limited to: OSHA, HazMat, and FRA-related courses
Able to reliably fulfill a set rotational schedule (days, nights, 24/7/365).
Effectively communicate both verbally and in written form
Education/Experience:
Work experience in an industrial environment; conveyor experience preferred
A high school diploma, or equivalent
Current/valid driver's license Fitness for
Duty:
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions: extreme wind, rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.
Comfortable working from extreme heights, over 100 feet
Able to crawl under rail cars and work in tight spaces
Able to stand on their feet for long periods of time, up to 4 hours
Able to pass a respirator fit test
Must be able to handle large hand tools and lift 50 lbs
