In this role, you will be responsible for operating HydroVac equipment to perform excavation, utility locating, and construction utility work with precision and safety. As a lead, you will oversee daily operations, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and mentor junior team members. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, construction machinery maintenance, and utility work will be vital to delivering efficient and safe project outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Duties Operate HydroVac trucks and auxiliary equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and water trucks to perform excavation and utility installation tasks Lead on-site activities, coordinating with team members to ensure timely completion of construction utility work in accordance with project plans and safety standards Conduct routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Perform utility locating using specialized tools to identify underground utilities before excavation begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently during all operations Assist in construction grading, paving, and site preparation activities as needed for project progression Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, safety inspections, and project progress reports Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment including HydroVac trucks, excavators (Caterpillar preferred), loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and water trucks Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to perform routine maintenance on machinery and identify mechanical issues promptly Construction experience with utility locating, excavation, grading, paving or related utility work is highly desirable Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving; CDL certification required Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting Skilled in construction grading techniques and heavy equipment operation including loader operation and backhoe operation Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations such as OSHA standards is essential Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively on busy job sites Join us if you're ready to bring energy, expertise, and leadership to challenging projects!
