Mini Excavator Operator - CLASS A CDL REQUIRED!!

Job Description

Precision Fiber Solutions, LLC, is seeking an experienced Mini Excavator Operator to join our team. We specialize in building next-generation fiber optic networks to bring high-speed internet and broadband services to residential and commercial communities. We take pride in safety, efficiency, and leaving jobsites in pristine condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive mini excavator and other equipment to job site utilizing Class A CDL.
Safe Equipment Operation:
Proficiently operate excavators, mini-excavators, and trenchers to dig trenches for fiber placement.
Utility Awareness:
Identify and dig carefully around existing underground utilities (water, gas, electric, fiber) based on 811 locate marks.
Trenching & Backfilling:
Dig trenches to precise grade specifications and safely backfill and compact soil after conduit installation.
Crew Collaboration:
Observe hand signals and spotter directions while working tightly alongside fiber splicers and utility ground crews.
Site Restoration:
Restore and landscape disturbed areas back to their original or improved conditions.
Daily Inspections:
Conduct pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections and log basic routine maintenance (fluid levels, greasing).
Perimeter Safety:
Help set up safety perimeters, cones, signage, and trench shoring to guarantee a safe work zone.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a mini excavator. Understanding of underground utility construction, including reading blueprints and utility maps. Knowledge of utility locating techniques and industry best practices. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with drill operators and supervisors. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Valid Class A CDL license is required. OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods. Working in confined spaces and various outdoor environments.
