Full Job Description Job Title:
Equipment/De-Icing Operator Job Summary
  • Operates a tractor, skid steer, front end loader, plow truck or salt truck.
Primary responsibility will be removing snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks on commercial and residential properties. Hours vary depending on snowfall but most shifts are 8-10 hours long and consist of overnight work with the occasional day time plowing. Flexibility of shifts can be arranged as long as we know about it prior to starting. Strong work ethic in the winter can lead to full time summer employment. General Accountabilities
  • Wears appropriate clothing and proper personal protective equipment to complete the task(s) at hand.
  • Operates equipment efficiently and safely to perform snow removal operations.
  • Removes snow from sidewalks and parking lots to desired storage locations.
  • Leaves the accounts in a safe manner free of snow when finished with the task.
  • Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Collects instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Maintains logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Operates equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, radiator fluid, washing vehicle, checking tire air pressures, greasing vehicle or performing minor repairs.

Experience:
3-5 years of experience as an equipment operator
    Licenses/Certifications:
    Valid Drivers' License
    • Valid DOT medical health (when operating
    GVWR 10,000
    lbs)
