Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Excavator/Equipment Operator to join our company. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction machinery, including excavators and skid steers, to support excavation, grading, utility work, and other construction activities. Your expertise will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Duties Operate excavators and skid steers with precision and safety compliance. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to equipment safety procedures. Perform excavation tasks for utility installation, grading, trenching, and site preparation in accordance with project specifications. Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities and ensuring safe excavation practices following federal construction safety regulations. Collaborate closely with project managers and other team members to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to construction site experience standards. Must be willing to travel. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators and skid steers (e.g., Caterpillar) in a construction environment. Strong understanding of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures. Ability to perform basic mechanical maintenance on equipment and identify potential issues early. Valid commercial driver's license with access to personal transportation. Construction utility work experience including utility locating and excavation is essential. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with construction grading techniques and heavy equipment operation standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
