Heavy Equipment Operator / CDL Truck Driver Stone Ridge Outdoor Experiences is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / CDL Truck Driver to join our growing team. We are a high-end landscape construction and outdoor living company specializing in excavation, site development, swimming pools, hardscapes, retaining walls, and complete outdoor living projects throughout Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and understands what it takes to get a job done right. The ideal candidate has strong experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment, along with the ability to safely operate dump trucks and other construction vehicles. What You'll Do Operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment. Perform excavation, site preparation, grading, trenching, and material handling. Safely operate dump trucks, equipment trailers, and other construction vehicles. Load, transport, and place materials including stone, gravel, loam, and construction debris. Assist with swimming pool excavation, drainage, utility installation, retaining walls, hardscape preparation, and general site development. Perform finish grading and site preparation with attention to detail. Work closely with project managers and crew members to complete projects efficiently and according to plan. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Keep equipment, trucks, and work areas clean and properly maintained. Identify potential equipment issues before they become major problems. Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures. Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. What We're Looking For Several years of experience operating heavy construction equipment. Strong excavator operating skills are highly preferred. Experience operating loaders, skid steers, dozers, and other excavation equipment. Experience driving dump trucks and transporting materials and equipment. Valid CDL is strongly preferred. Clean driving record. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance. Ability to read and understand construction plans and site layouts. Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field. Strong understanding of construction site safety. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather. Ability to work as part of a professional construction team. The Ideal Candidate We're looking for more than someone who can simply move dirt. The ideal candidate is an experienced equipment operator who understands construction —someone who knows how to read the site, work around existing structures and utilities, operate equipment efficiently, and leave a finished grade that they're proud of. You should be comfortable jumping between equipment and tasks as the project requires and be willing to help the crew when you're not operating a machine.
