•Lead Heavy Equipment Operator - Sitework•The Job Holley Construction Group is looking for an individual that is ready to join a fast-paced work environment and become part of a growing organization. We are looking for the right person who is ready to operate brand new CAT equipment, equipped with Trimble GPS systems. What The Day Looks Like As the lead operator you will be responsible for ensuring you have daily materials (grease, diesel fuel, pipe, fittings, tampers, rigging, etc...) to complete your daily tasks. You will be responsible for moving dirt, materials, and equipment around on the project. You will be responsible for reading & interpreting plans to shoot grades, shoot pipe elevations, and perform various layout activities. Your role is to ensure that the project progress keeps moving forward when the project field superintendent must leave to visit another site. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and compactors. Perform daily equipment inspections, greasing, and routine maintenance checks. Safely move, grade, excavate, lift, and load materials as required. Follow site plans, grade stakes, GPS systems, and supervisor instructions. Maintain proper equipment operation and report mechanical issues promptly. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other trades. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Report accidents, equipment damage, unsafe conditions, or hazards immediately. Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, & site work. Must have at least 2 years' worth of Trimble GPS experience. Must be able to operate many different types of heavy equipment. Valid driver's license required. Knowledge of job-site safety practices and regulations. Ability to read and understand basic site plans and grade indicators. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious. CDL is a plus. Not required. Working Conditions Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and heavy machinery. Ability to climb on and off equipment, bend, stoop, and lift as required. May require extended hours, weekends, or overtime depending on project needs. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay is based on experience and qualifications. Opportunities for overtime. Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
