Overview The Highway Department is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team. This role involves operating heavy equipment and performing various tasks related to highway maintenance and construction. Ideal candidates will have experience in construction site environments and a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations. We are looking for team players who are committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our roadways. Duties Operate a truck in connection with removal of snow and refuse and in the transportation of stone, gravel and other materials. Operate a tractor or truck with snow plow, dozer or other attachments. Operate other road construction equipment. Perform or assist in preventative maintenance on department equipment. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in operation of automotive equipment such as dump trucks, snow plows and other similar equipment. Possession of a valid NYS Class B Driver's License at time of appointment. Candidates are required to pass a physical examination and drug test.
