Job Description

Operate and maintain heavy machinery to support site preparation, earthmoving, grading, and utility installation on civil construction projects. Ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production in fast‑paced sitework environments. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, rollers , and other sitework equipment for cut/fill, grading, trenching, and backfilling. Perform daily equipment inspections , basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues. Follow site plans, grades, stakes, and foreman direction to achieve accurate production. Support installation of storm drainage, water/sewer utilities, and foundations as needed. Maintain safe working distances, communicate clearly with ground crews, and follow all OSHA and company safety standards . Assist with site cleanup, material handling, and general labor when equipment work is not required. Operate equipment in tight or sensitive areas with precision and minimal rework . Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment in sitework or civil construction . Ability to read grades, stakes, and cut sheets . Strong awareness of jobsite safety and communication with spotters. Physical ability to perform labor tasks when needed. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required. Preferred Skills GPS‑equipped machine experience (Trimble/Topcon). Utility trenching and backfill proficiency. Fine grading experience for pads, roads, or curb prep.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
