Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description Heavy-Duty Forklift Operator - Data Center Construction Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Forklift Operator to support mission-critical data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating large-capacity forklifts in active construction environments and possess a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and teamwork. Experience working around energized systems, critical lifts, and multiple trades is highly preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate heavy-duty forklifts ranging from 15,000 to 55,000+ pound capacities. Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, equipment, conduit, cable trays, mechanical components, and prefabricated assemblies. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns. Read load charts and understand equipment limitations. Coordinate with superintendents, signal persons, and other trades to ensure safe and efficient material movement. Utilize rigging, slings, and attachments as required for specialized lifts. Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific procedures. Maintain accurate inspection logs and equipment records. Assist with general labor and material management activities when equipment operation is not required. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty forklift operating experience. OSHA Forklift Certification required. Experience operating 15K, 25K, 36K, or larger forklifts preferred. Previous experience on large commercial, industrial, or data center construction projects strongly preferred. Ability to read load charts and understand safe lifting practices.
