Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL Operator - Transportation Equipment Operator/Recycle hauler and play a vital role in maintaining and supporting roadway and construction projects. This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate a variety of heavy equipment, including dozers, Sidebooms, Excavators, Semis, and Front Loaders. You will be instrumental in executing highway maintenance, road construction, and civil infrastructure projects while adhering to safety protocols and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. If you thrive outdoors, enjoy working with powerful machinery, and are passionate about building and maintaining essential infrastructure, this role is perfect for you! Days will include hauling to Nucor steel and dumping with end dump scrap metal, heading to business for scrap metal collection, connecting and disconnecting from low boys to move heavy equipment, working on railroad property to operate equipment and rerail train cars. Great benefit of being home almost every night. Pay will be on experience and understanding of how to operate a Semi and haul heavy equipment/operating experiance. Duties Operate/Haul heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, and excavators Perform recyclIng of metals to Nucor Steel from our yard Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Assist with loading heavy equipment or loads to haul from jobsites Be on call for emergency response for cleaning up train derailments (this may include Overtime pay and even DoubleTime in pay)! Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record Experience operating heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks would be preferred but not required. Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment and tools including power tools and hand tools Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to commercial trucking and safety standards Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely in outdoor work environments Familiarity with traffic control procedures for work zones and roadway safety practices Construction site experience with utility locating, welding, and use of heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery Join us in recycling metals and supporting vital railroad infrastructure!
