Logging Equipment Operator

Job Description

Abston Logging is seeking experienced, dependable equipment operators to join our logging crew based out of Eatonville, WA. We are hiring for two positions: Shovel Operator Feller Buncher Operator Job Responsibilities Shovel Operator Operate a logging shovel safely and efficiently for yarding, sorting, decking, and loading timber. Work safely around ground crews, trucks, and other machinery. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Report mechanical issues and changing site conditions promptly. Feller Buncher Operator Operate a feller buncher to safely cut and bunch timber according to the harvest plan. Navigate steep, uneven, and challenging terrain. Perform daily inspections, lubrication, and routine maintenance. Coordinate closely with shovel operators, cutters, supervisors, and other crew members. Qualifications Previous experience operating a logging shovel or feller buncher is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of logging safety practices and equipment operation.
DEPENDABLE ATTENDANCE
to job sites or designated meeting locations. Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a crew. Mechanical aptitude and experience with daily equipment maintenance are preferred. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Must comply with company safety policies and drug-free workplace requirements. Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience. Full-time, steady work. Overtime opportunities when available. Paid time off and paid holidays. Retirement plan. Work Truck Schedule Typical logging schedule is Monday- Friday working 10-12 hr days. Start times and job-site locations may vary depending on weather, road conditions, and operational needs.
