The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment and screening equipment, performing light housekeeping of work area, assisting customers, and completing daily administrative tasks. This is a non-union position, and the regularly scheduled shift will be Friday thru Sunday, 5:00AM to 6:00PM. Why Cedar Grove? Cedar Grove plays a critical role in the Puget Sound's recycling infrastructure and sustainability efforts, diverting more than 350,000 tons of yard waste and food scraps from landfills annually. With two processing facilities in Maple Valley and Everett, Cedar Grove is a local manufacturer providing green jobs in King and Snohomish Counties. Cedar Grove produces wholesome, nutrient-rich compost that is sold to businesses, governments and residents, ensuring consumers have access to locally produced, recycled products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers and excavators, safely and efficiently. Operate portable and stationary screening equipment. Perform routine clean-up of work area on daily basis. Utilize 'Stop Work Authority' to ensure work is only done in the safest manner possible. Provide excellent customer service. Required Skills Must be self-motivated and able to meet operational performance standards. Must interact with the public in a professional manner. Must work as a team member. Flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands. Must be able and willing to meet and exceed safety standards. Basic customer service skills required. Basic computer skills required. Education/Certification High school diploma or GED equivalent Must have a valid Washington driver's license Experience/Other At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, portable grinders, screening plants, dozers & excavators is preferred. Physical Demands To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit or stand for six or more hours per day, and frequently lift, push/pull, and/or carry objects up to 80 pounds.
