Job Description

Overview Whitney Tree Service is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Heavy Equipment Operator to join our tree care team. This position operates heavy equipment for tree removal, cleanup, material handling, site clearing, and other tree care projects. The operator also works alongside the crew and assists with general tree work and job-site cleanup as needed. Responsibilities Safely operate loaders, tractors, chippers, trucks, and other heavy equipment. Assist with tree removals, pruning, storm cleanup, and site clearing. Load, move, process, and organize logs, brush, and wood chips. Work as part of a tree care crew and assist with ground work when needed. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Keep equipment clean, fueled, and ready for use. Follow company safety procedures and use proper PPE. Represent Whitney Tree Service professionally at customer and municipal job sites.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Follow
ANSI Z133
safety practices and company safety procedures. Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a crew. Work around noise, dust, wood debris, changing weather conditions, and other outdoor job-site conditions. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred:
Class A CDL. Experience with loaders, skid steers, tractors, chippers, or grapple equipment. Experience in tree care, forestry, construction, landscaping, excavation, or agriculture. Basic mechanical knowledge. Experience working around traffic, utilities, buildings, or other job-site hazards.
Pay:
$62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
