Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance structural integrity, and ensure high-quality results that meet safety and aesthetic standards. Duties Prepare surfaces through sanding, scraping, cleaning, and surface repairs to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute painting plans aligned with project specifications. Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray techniques), and other hand or power tools to achieve smooth, even coats. Perform construction surface preparation tasks such as drywall installation, plastering, caulking, masonry work, and stucco application to create ideal painting surfaces. Use ladder safety protocols effectively when working at heights; select appropriate equipment for each task while adhering to safety regulations. Conduct color matching using visual comparison techniques and knowledge of color theory to ensure consistency across projects. Assist with renovation projects by performing tasks like fixture installation, trim carpentry, framing, drywall finishing, and minor carpentry repairs as needed. Follow all safety procedures including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial coating applications with a strong understanding of construction site operations. Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus. Proficiency in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanders, caulking guns, and power tools including drills and saws. Familiarity with spray painting techniques including airless paint spraying and conventional spray systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans accurately. Understanding of safety regulations specific to construction sites; committed to following safety protocol adherence at all times. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating material quantities; experience with blueprint reading is advantageous. Skills in surface preparation methods such as drywall finishing, plastering, masonry work (including stucco), concrete finishing, and masonry repairs. Experience with restoration projects or renovation work involving fixture installation or frame carpentry is desirable.
