Job Description

Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this pivotal role, you will lead painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications and safety standards. Your expertise will drive the successful completion of projects on time and within scope, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional results with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple construction and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards. Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, drywall repair, caulking, stucco application, and surface priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and color schemes to accurately execute painting tasks aligned with project requirements. Apply various painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless and conventional spray systems), and coating application for diverse surfaces such as walls, ceilings, fixtures, and structural elements. Manage construction estimating tasks related to paint quantities, material needs, and project timelines to optimize resources and reduce waste. Operate hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, and scaffolding or ladders safely while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols. Conduct visual color comparisons to ensure color consistency across surfaces; perform surface preparation for construction spray painting and industrial painting projects. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to interpret technical drawings and ensure project specifications are met precisely. Maintain detailed documentation of work progress, safety compliance reports, and quality control inspections throughout each project phase. Requirements Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, or renovation projects with a strong understanding of construction site procedures. Skilled in surface preparation techniques including drywall repair, caulking, stucco application, and fixture installation. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools (such as drills and sanders), paint sprayers (airless and conventional), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding equipment. Knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project plans accurately. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting environments; committed to adhering to safety protocol including respiratory protection measures. Basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities; experience with construction estimating is a plus. Excellent communication skills combined with leadership qualities necessary for supervising teams effectively. Valid ladder use certification; experience working at heights safely is preferred. Construction site experience with a focus on renovation or remodeling projects; familiarity with drywall installation, stucco finishing, fixture installation or maintenance work is advantageous.
