Duties Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional sprayers), and power tools for efficient coverage. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to execute precise painting tasks aligned with project requirements. Use ladders safely and effectively to access high or hard-to-reach areas on residential, commercial, or industrial sites. Perform surface repairs such as drywall patching, stucco application, masonry touch-ups, and fixture installation to ensure a smooth base for painting. Follow all safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols during all phases of construction painting and surface preparation. Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards; assist with remodeling projects and handyman tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or renovation painting environments, including residential and commercial projects. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting jobs is a plus. Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as drywall finishing, caulking, stucco work, and masonry repairs. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately for precise application. Familiarity with safety regulations including respiratory protection use and safety protocol adherence on construction sites. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating coverage and project estimates. Experience working at heights using ladders safely; knowledge of structural painting methods is advantageous.
