In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety standards and client expectations. Your expertise will help transform spaces, whether residential, commercial, or industrial, by delivering precise craftsmanship and attention to detail. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer or other preparatory coatings in accordance with construction painting surface preparation standards. Execute interior and exterior painting tasks using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and other hand tools to achieve smooth, even finishes. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and color theory principles to select appropriate paints and coatings for each project. Perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces such as stucco, masonry, drywall, wood trim, fixtures, and frames with precision. Use ladders safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas while adhering to safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols. Conduct renovation and restoration projects by matching colors visually through color comparison techniques and applying coatings that meet industry standards. Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling disposal of paints and materials while following safety protocol adherence guidelines. Requirements Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting environments with a strong understanding of construction site practices. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately. Familiarity with construction estimating procedures and basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities. Experience with surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation is advantageous. Strong understanding of safety regulations including respiratory protection measures and proper use of ladders for elevated work. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to match colors visually and perform coating applications that meet quality standards.
