Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Lead Painter to ensure high-quality results on residential and/or commercial projects. This role requires strong leadership abilities, hands-on expertise, and a thorough understanding of all phases of painting, including surface preparation and application techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepared interior and exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and priming. Applied paints, stains, sealers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and airless sprayers. Masked and protected surrounding surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and flooring before painting. Operated and maintained airless spray equipment, including setup, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Ensured proper adhesion and finish quality through thorough surface preparation. Applied multiple coats while maintaining consistent coverage, texture, and finish. Followed safety procedures when working on ladders, scaffolding, and with painting materials. Maintained a clean and organized work area throughout each project. Inspected completed work for quality, corrected imperfections, and performed touch-ups as needed. Estimated material needs and minimized waste through efficient use of paints and supplies. Communicated with supervisors, team members, and customers to ensure project requirements were met. Completed projects within established timelines while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Maintained painting tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a professional painter, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in: Surface preparation (sanding, scraping, caulking, patching, priming) Brushing and rolling techniques Spraying (airless and/or HVLP systems) Backrolling for even coverage and finish quality Ability to read and interpret job specifications and plans Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices

Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
