WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager and Speed Seal Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties on the speed seal production line. Is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pours pipes and branches, verifies molds are centered, keeps a close check on pump pressure gauge, and flushes out mixer and hose when necessary.

Trims and inspects bell and spigots and turns every other pipe "end to end", to be strapped.

Paints bell and spigot pipes and branches with primer.

Places pipe, either by hand or air hoist, onto raggie board and strap to pallet.

Loads pipe onto the monorail with pipe clamp air hoist or by hand.

For bottom molding, ensures all rubber beads are properly set in moldings, the molds are clean of all debris, and coated with mold release grease.

For top molding, places molds in bell end of pipe after ensuring they have polyurethane applied, pops molding out of pipe and grease. Removes and greases rubber seals; ensures both pipes and seals are clean.

Inspects pipe for crack or large chips and ensures that polyurethane has been applied to both ends. Informs Lead of any irregular or defective molds, pipes, or joints.

Makes under liners.

Detaches rings from pipe and discards them.

Ensures that equipment is in good working order. Makes minor repairs to guns and equipment.

Operates a forklift, hoist, clamp machine, air strapper, and trimming knife.

Identifies cost saving and quality enhancing processes, procedures, equipment, and materials

Contributes to the direction and coordination of when, how and to what extent maintenance, repairs and replacements are to be done

Ensure that new employees including temporary employees receive general orientation and location specific task training.

Ensures processing speeds and efficiencies are maintained at all times

Maintains assigned work are according topany standards for cleanliness.

Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth bypany and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, andor ability required.

High school education or equivalent On-the-job training is required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Must be able to read, speak and write to be able to understand basic instructions andmunicate with supervisors and peers effectively.

Basic math is required.

Must be able to follow directions and work with little or no supervision.

Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to bend at the waist and stand for extended time
