Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced Pipe Layer to support open-cut utility repair and replacement projects throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. This position installs and repairs water, sewer, reclaimed-water, drainage, and related piping systems while working safely and efficiently with equipment operators and crew members. Key Responsibilities Install and repair water, reclaimed-water, sewer, drainage, gas, and telecommunications piping systems. Position, align, join, wrap, and seal pipe sections and fittings within trenches. Check slopes and grades for compliance with project specifications using levels or lasers. Signal equipment operators to help align, move, and adjust machinery according to grade requirements. Tap and drill pipes to install auxiliary lines or devices. Install pipe hangers and related components. Cut iron, steel, concrete, and plastic pipe using gas-powered or hydraulic saws. Compact backfill using mechanical compactors. Cover installed pipes with soil or other specified materials. Perform physical tasks such as cleaning, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, and shoveling. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Perform other construction-related tasks involving equipment, machinery, or trucks as directed by a supervisor. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Qualifications Previous construction experience required. Pipe-laying or underground utility construction experience preferred. Valid driver's license required. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and shoveling. Ability to work safely in trenches and active construction environments. Dependable, hardworking, and able to follow instructions. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
