Utility Locator Responsibilities:

• Ability to interpret maps and other documents to help identify underground utilities including telecommunications, electric, power, gas, water, sewer systems and private utilities
• Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities.
• Use shovel to expose buried utilities when necessary.
• Prepare diagrams and sketches that show the location of lines.
• Take pictures and document all the information.
• Communicate findings to management at regular intervals.
• Interface with Miss Dig and other outside parties.
• Responsible for site set-up and clean-up
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Inspect and maintain job equipment.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least one year of relevant experience
• Ability to work independently and have good problem solving skills
• Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
• Must have valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• Basic knowledge and ability to operate tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, employees, etc.
• Regular and timely attendance is required
• Position is physically active with lifting required (up to 50 pounds)
• Infrequently involves off hour emergency locates
• Comfortable with technology

$23.00 - $30.00 per hour
