Job Overview The Landscape Construction Crew Member works as part of a field crew to safely, efficiently, and professionally complete landscape construction projects. This position assists with daily site preparation, construction, installation, cleanup, and maintenance of tools and equipment. Crew Members are expected to follow direction, work as part of a team, take pride in their work, and consistently represent Rock Shelter's standards for Quality, Communication, Accountability, and Teamwork . Responsibilities Assist with landscape construction projects including patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, outdoor living areas, drainage systems, grading, planting, and related site improvements. Perform site preparation including excavation, grading, base preparation, compaction, drainage installation, and material placement. Assist with accurate layout and installation using measurements, levels, lasers, strings, grades, and other tools. Load, unload, move, and properly stage materials, tools, and equipment. Operate construction equipment and power tools safely when trained and qualified. Follow instructions from the Crew Leader and work efficiently to complete assigned tasks. Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites throughout the workday. Protect existing landscaping, structures, vehicles, and property while performing work. Assist with jobsite cleanup and proper storage of tools and equipment at the end of each day. Communicate questions, concerns, damaged materials, equipment issues, or jobsite conditions to the Crew Leader. Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and management. Perform other construction-related tasks as assigned. Requirements Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as required. Basic understanding of landscape construction and hardscape installation preferred. Previous experience with masonry, pavers, natural stone, retaining walls, drainage, grading, or other landscape construction preferred. Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools. Ability to learn and operate construction equipment when trained and qualified. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Valid driver's license preferred. Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Qualifications 1+ year experience in landscape construction, masonry, hardscape, or general construction preferred.
