•250k a year Position Overview Big Smile Plumbing is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Plumbing Sales Technician who combines strong plumbing expertise with consultative sales and exceptional customer service. This role will diagnose plumbing issues, perform service work, educate customers, and recommend appropriate repair, replacement, and upgrade solutions. The technician will also identify opportunities for larger projects such as water heater replacements, repiping, sewer line work, fixture upgrades, and other plumbing improvements. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, confident working with customers, and able to present solutions and estimates clearly without using high-pressure sales tactics. Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing Service & Diagnostics Respond to residential plumbing service calls professionally and efficiently. Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose plumbing, drainage, sewer, gas, fixture, and water heater issues. Perform repairs and service work within the scope of the position. Identify underlying problems and recommend appropriate short
•and long-term solutions. Perform plumbing inspections while following applicable codes and safety standards. Customer Consultation & Sales Understand customer concerns and clearly explain plumbing issues and available solutions. Present repair, replacement, upgrade, and preventative maintenance options when appropriate. Identify opportunities for larger projects, including: Water heater and tankless water heater systems Sewer line repair or replacement Repiping Drain and water line replacement Fixture upgrades and other plumbing improvements Prepare accurate estimates and proposals and follow up on unsold opportunities. Build customer trust through honest, needs-based recommendations. Meet established sales, conversion, and customer satisfaction goals. Project Coordination & Teamwork Coordinate with the Lead Plumber and installation team on larger projects. Communicate project scope, materials, technical requirements, and customer expectations clearly. Ensure accurate handoffs from diagnosis and sale through project completion. Collaborate with dispatch, customer service, and installation personnel to provide a seamless customer experience. Maintain accurate service, estimate, and sales records. Qualifications 3-5 years of professional plumbing experience , preferably in residential or commercial service plumbing. Strong ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems. Knowledge of plumbing systems, water heaters, drainage, sewer, fixtures, and related equipment. Experience selling plumbing repairs, replacements, or installation projects strongly preferred. Experience preparing estimates and presenting solutions to customers. Strong communication, customer service, and consultative sales skills. Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers. Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and safety standards. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team. Comfortable using mobile technology, estimating software, and CRM systems. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Education Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship, vocational/technical plumbing program, or equivalent training is preferred but not required.
