Overview Licensed Plumber Ulta Home Plumbing | Massachusetts About the Role Ulta Home Plumbing is looking for a skilled, dependable Licensed Plumber who takes pride in quality workmanship, clear communication, and doing the job right. In this role, you will lead plumbing service, renovation, and new installation projects across residential and commercial properties, overseeing each job from the initial assessment through completion. Working alongside our Service Manager, you will diagnose issues, develop solutions, coordinate materials and job requirements, and deliver reliable, code-compliant work. We are looking for someone who works with integrity, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and treats every customer's property with the same care and respect they would give their own. This position requires occasional overtime for emergency service calls on nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities You will take ownership of each plumbing job, ensuring quality workmanship, safe practices, and a positive customer experience from start to finish. Service & Repair Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and failed fixtures, valves, and fittings. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace tank, tankless, and indirect water heaters; sump pumps; ejector pumps; and backflow devices. Repair and replace water service lines, sewer lines, and gas piping. Renovation & New Installation Install complete water supply, drain, waste, vent (DWV), and gas piping systems using copper, PEX, PVC, ABS, cast iron, and steel. Install plumbing fixtures and equipment, including sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, dishwashers, garbage disposals, and appliances. Complete plumbing work for kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions, and full-building renovations. Install commercial plumbing systems and equipment, including grease interceptors, commercial water heaters, booster pumps, flush valves, and backflow preventers. Residential & Commercial Projects Perform plumbing work in occupied homes, multifamily buildings, offices, restaurants, retail spaces, and light industrial facilities. Coordinate work with the Service Manager, contractors, and other trades to keep projects organized and moving forward. Codes, Permits & Inspections Complete all work in accordance with applicable Massachusetts and local plumbing and gas codes. Obtain required permits, coordinate inspections, and address any items identified by inspectors. Pressure-test and verify systems before closing walls or turning completed work over to the customer. Customer Service & Job Management Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining plumbing issues, recommended solutions, and pricing. Prepare estimates and quotes and obtain customer approval before beginning work. Complete work orders, time records, material lists, and job notes accurately and promptly. Collect payments for service calls in accordance with company procedures. Maintain a clean, organized work area and protect the customer's home, business, and property throughout the job. Safety, Tools & Vehicle Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures, including applicable confined-space, trenching, and hot-work requirements. Keep the assigned company vehicle, tools, and truck inventory clean, organized, and in good working condition. Provide guidance and direction to apprentices and helpers, promoting safe practices and quality workmanship on every job. Emergency Service & Overtime Participate in occasional overtime and emergency service calls on nights, weekends, and holidays. Respond to urgent plumbing and heating-related issues, which may include burst pipes, active leaks, sewer backups, no-heat or no-hot-water calls, and gas leaks. Approach emergency situations with sound judgment, professionalism, and a focus on customer safety. Required Qualifications Active Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Plumber license in good standing. At least 5 years of hands-on plumbing experience, including residential and commercial work. Demonstrated experience in service and repair, renovations, and new construction installations. Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts and applicable local plumbing and gas codes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Clear, professional communication with customers, contractors, and coworkers. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements. Availability for occasional overtime and on-call emergency work on nights, weekends, and holidays. Personal set of basic hand tools; Ulta Home Plumbing provides power tools and specialty equipment.
