Job Description

Master Plumber / Gas Fitter - Gas Operations & Training Lead Fong & Sullivan Heating & Cooling LLC is looking for an experienced Master Plumber / Licensed Gas Fitter to oversee and help develop the gas side of our growing HVAC company. This is an excellent opportunity for a retired or semi-retired Master Plumber/Gas Fitter who is looking to stay involved in the trade without the demands of working full-time in the field. We are looking for someone with extensive real-world experience who can serve as a technical resource, mentor our technicians, and help ensure our gas work is completed safely, professionally, and to code. The Role As our Gas Operations & Training Lead , you will provide oversight and guidance for all gas-related work associated with our residential HVAC projects. You will work closely with our technicians, installation teams, and management to ensure our company maintains a high standard of workmanship and safety. Responsibilities Oversee the gas side of residential HVAC installations and service work Provide technical guidance on gas piping, gas appliances, venting, combustion air, and related systems Train and mentor HVAC technicians on proper gas installation, service, troubleshooting, and safety practices Review gas-related installations and provide quality-control oversight Help technicians properly diagnose and troubleshoot gas heating equipment Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, manufacturer specifications, and best practices Assist with challenging or unusual gas-related service and installation situations Establish and maintain company standards for gas workmanship and installation practices Help develop training programs and procedures for our technicians Work with management to identify areas where our technicians need additional training or support Serve as a senior technical resource when our team encounters difficult gas-related issues Help ensure our technicians are confident and competent when working with gas-fired equipment Stay current on applicable code requirements and industry best practices Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Master Plumber / Gas Fitter who has spent years working in the field and understands what quality workmanship looks like. We are especially interested in someone who is retired or semi-retired and would enjoy passing their knowledge and experience on to the next generation of technicians.
You should be:
A licensed Master Plumber and/or Gas Fitter with significant field experience Extremely knowledgeable in residential gas systems and gas-fired equipment Experienced with gas furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and other gas appliances Strong in troubleshooting and diagnostics Knowledgeable in gas piping, venting, combustion, and applicable codes Safety-minded and committed to doing the job correctly Comfortable teaching, coaching, and mentoring technicians Able to communicate clearly and work well with a growing team Willing to get involved when your experience is needed on a difficult job This Is Not Your Typical Plumber Job We are not looking for someone to spend every day running service calls or doing production plumbing. We're looking for a seasoned professional who can be the experienced voice behind our gas department — someone our technicians can call when they run into a difficult situation, someone who can inspect and advise on installations, and someone who can help us build a stronger, more knowledgeable team. Pay:
$38.55 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 15.0 per week
