Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Service Plumbing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, can confidently handle residential and light commercial plumbing service calls, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. Our service plumbers are responsible for identifying plumbing problems, presenting appropriate repair and replacement options, and completing work safely, efficiently, and professionally. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Perform service and repairs on water heaters, toilets, faucets, fixtures, piping, drains, water lines, and other plumbing components. Diagnose and repair leaks, drainage issues, water pressure problems, and plumbing system failures. Install and service traditional and tankless water heaters. Identify plumbing concerns and recommend practical repair or replacement solutions. Educate customers on plumbing issues and clearly explain available service options and pricing. Prepare accurate estimates, document service findings, and complete job-related paperwork. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, office staff, management, and customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle. Follow company procedures, safety standards, and applicable New Jersey plumbing codes. Provide excellent customer service while representing our family business professionally. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Assist with emergency service calls and on-call rotations as scheduled. Qualifications Previous experience as a residential or commercial service plumber. Strong plumbing diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and installation skills. Ability to work independently and manage service calls from diagnosis through completion. Knowledge of plumbing systems, equipment, materials, and applicable codes. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to explain recommendations and provide customers with repair and replacement options. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Comfortable using mobile technology for dispatching, estimates, invoices, and job documentation. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to participate in emergency service coverage as required. New Jersey plumbing licensing or formal apprenticeship experience is a plus.
