Design, inspect, repair, maintain and install plumbing systems such as: piping for sanitary, storm, domestic, lab, fluid, and medical gas use as well as associated fixtures, equipment and controls. Work will be performed almost exclusively in healthcare related buildings. Use of critical thinking skills to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications is required. Plumbers work in cooperation with other trades to ensure that all codes, protocols, and policies are met to ensure safe and efficient completion of all projects. Digital documentation of work must be completed on a daily basis.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
Five years as a plumber/fitter in a commercial, industrial, healthcare or facilities operations setting is required. Eight years of experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Completion of a State regulated apprenticeship is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
State of Wisconsin Journeyman Plumbing Certification or acquiring Certification within 60 days is required.
