Rigger Pay:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience Position Summary Bryant Industrial is seeking an experienced Ironworker / Rigger to join our crews on industrial construction, structural steel, crane, and rigging projects throughout the Southeastern United States. This is a hands-on field position requiring experience with structural steel erection, load handling, rigging equipment, and safe work practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, willing to travel, and capable of working effectively as part of a crew in demanding industrial environments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Erect, install, align, bolt, and secure structural steel and other iron components. Assist with unloading, staging, positioning, and installation of steel, machinery, equipment, and other materials. Select and use appropriate rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, chain falls, and come-alongs. Inspect rigging equipment before use and remove damaged or unsafe equipment from service. Calculate or verify load weights, sling angles, load balance, and rigging configurations within the employee's training and qualifications. Rig, guide, and control suspended loads using proper hand signals, radio communication, and taglines. Communicate clearly with crane operators, supervisors, and other crew members during lifting operations. Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, lift plans, and project specifications. Verify measurements, layouts, elevations, and alignment before securing materials. Perform bolting, connecting, fitting, and other structural steel erection tasks. Follow company safety policies, site-specific procedures, OSHA regulations, and approved lift plans. Use fall-protection equipment and follow established procedures when working at elevated heights. Assist with daily equipment inspections, jobsite preparation, and material handling. Identify unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or field issues and report them immediately to the supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other related duties as assigned based on project requirements. Qualifications Previous experience in structural ironwork, industrial rigging, steel erection, or a closely related field. Working knowledge of rigging equipment, load control, and safe lifting practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications. Ability to understand and use standard crane hand signals. Ability to work safely at heights and in active industrial construction environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew. Dependable attendance and willingness to work varying schedules. Valid driver's license required. OSHA, NCCER, signal-person, rigger, or other relevant certifications are preferred. Welding experience is a plus but is not required. Travel Requirements Extensive out-of-state travel is required. Must be able to travel for extended periods to projects throughout the Southeastern United States. Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as project demands require. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, bend, and work at elevated heights. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and fall-protection equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
