at Cianbro Corporation in Brattleboro, Vermont, United States Job Description Safely erect, rig, and connect structural steel components that support the successful execution of industrial and commercial construction projects. The Ironworker/Rigger is responsible for positioning, aligning, hoisting, and securing structural members in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and safety requirements. Utilize strong rigging, connecting, and blueprint reading skills to support efficient project execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Job Responsibilities Safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members. Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, using hand signals, and tag lines. Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections to erected structures as needed. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torque. Qualifications/ Requirements Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with layout, connecting, and rigging. The ability to work at all heights is a must. Ability to read blueprints, interpret symbols and abbreviations on plans and drawings. Prior rigging experience to include knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection, and proper use. NCCER certification is a plus. Willing to travel the Southern New England region. The compensation range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 and is exclusive of any other benefit and/or bonus. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued growth.
