Roofing SuperintendentPosition Overview We are looking for an experienced and dependable Roofing Superintendent to oversee our roofing projects from initial inspection through final completion. This position is responsible for managing roofing and tear-off crews, inspecting jobs for dry rot and other necessary repairs, coordinating materials and deliveries, handling roof repairs, and maintaining clear communication with homeowners and company management throughout each project. The Roofing Superintendent will serve as a key point of contact in the field and is expected to take ownership of each project, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and to the company's quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesCrew & Project Management Manage and coordinate daily activities of roofing and tear-off crews. Assign crews to projects and ensure they have the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and information to perform their work. Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, attendance, and jobsite performance. Ensure projects stay on schedule and communicate any delays or issues immediately. Work closely with company management and office staff to coordinate project schedules and changing priorities. Hold crews accountable for quality, productivity, cleanliness, and professionalism. Job Inspections & Dry Rot Inspect roofing projects during tear-off to identify dry rot, damaged decking, structural concerns, and other conditions requiring repair. Clearly document damaged areas with photographs and detailed descriptions. Communicate required repairs to homeowners in a professional and understandable manner. Obtain homeowner approval for dry rot, decking, and other additional work before repairs are completed. Coordinate approved repairs with the appropriate crew and ensure the work is completed properly. Identify potential issues early and communicate them to management before they affect the project schedule or budget. Materials & Deliveries Confirm that all required roofing materials are ordered and scheduled for delivery. Confirm material deliveries arrive at the correct jobsite and on schedule. Inspect deliveries to ensure materials are correct and sufficient for the project. Communicate missing, damaged, or incorrect materials immediately so issues can be resolved without unnecessary delays. Coordinate material placement and jobsite organization to keep crews productive and jobsites safe. Roof Repairs Handle and oversee roofing repairs as needed throughout projects. Diagnose roofing issues and determine the appropriate repair solution. Perform repairs personally when appropriate or coordinate repairs with the roofing crew. Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards and manufacturer requirements. Address warranty or customer repair issues in a timely and professional manner. Homeowner Communication Maintain regular communication with homeowners throughout the project. Keep homeowners informed about project progress, upcoming work, schedule changes, and any unexpected conditions discovered during construction. Explain dry rot and other necessary repairs and obtain approval before performing additional work. Address homeowner questions and concerns professionally and work to resolve issues quickly. Provide homeowners with updates when there are changes to the project timeline or scope of work. Conduct a final walkthrough with the homeowner upon project completion. Review completed work with the homeowner and address any remaining concerns or punch-list items. Ensure the homeowner is satisfied with the completed project before the job is closed out. Quality Control & Safety Perform regular jobsite inspections to ensure work is being completed correctly. Ensure roofing systems are installed according to company standards, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements. Maintain clean and organized jobsites throughout the project. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Address unsafe work practices immediately. Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of roofing materials and debris. Complete final quality inspections before scheduling project completion. Project Communication & Reporting The Roofing Superintendent is expected to keep the company owner/management fully informed about the status of every project .

Responsibilities include:

Provide regular updates on project progress. Communicate schedule changes, delays, material issues, crew issues, and homeowner concerns. Report additional work opportunities and unexpected job conditions. Document dry rot, decking, and other repair needs with photos and notes. Communicate when projects are approaching completion. Report any customer complaints or potential problems immediately. Maintain accurate project notes and documentation. Qualifications 5+ years of roofing experience preferred. Previous experience as a Roofing Superintendent, Foreman, Lead, or experienced roofing professional. Strong knowledge of roofing installation, tear-off, repairs, and roof preparation. Experience identifying dry rot, damaged decking, and other roofing-related issues. Strong understanding of roofing materials and construction processes. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and company management. Strong leadership and crew-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who knows roofing from the ground up and takes ownership of every project . They should be comfortable managing crews, talking directly with homeowners, identifying problems during tear-off, getting approvals for additional work, coordinating materials, handling repairs, and making sure every project is completed correctly. This person needs to be organized, dependable, proactive, and an excellent communicator . They should understand that their job is not just to manage crews, but to make sure the entire project runs smoothly from start to finish while keeping both the homeowner and company management informed. Success in This Position Success in this position means: Crews are productive and properly managed. Materials arrive on time and projects stay on schedule. Dry rot and other issues are identified and communicated quickly. Homeowner approvals are obtained before additional work is performed. Repairs are completed correctly and efficiently. Homeowners are satisfied with the finished product. Company management is never surprised by a problem or delay.

Pay:

$32.00 - $38.00 per hour
