Multiple Positions Available Job Overview:
Qualifications and Skills Required At least one year of experience in fabrication and assemble of sheet metal products. Work independently or in a team environment. Read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures. Stay focused, adapt to change, and pay close attention to detail. Perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals) Use various inspection equipment. (Calipers, Micrometers, gage pins and height gages etc.) Multitask and work to shop order standards. Written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficient in marking or serializing parts using various marking methods. Proficient in operating sizers, planishers and an assortment of rivet guns. Proficient in using required tools such as drill press, belt sander, orbital sander, swivel deburr, bench grinder, and other hand tools as instructed by the Operation Process Sheets. Have a basic understanding of Blueprint reading. Understanding and knowledge of different abrasives to use depending on material type being deburred. Polish and remove burrs on all different material types. Operate girt blast machines and tumblers. Understand how to check break edges and radi. Due to the nature of the job, required to communicate and read English. Sheet metal mechanics fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products and structures. Responsibilities and Duties Required Perform all tasks in a safe and reasonable manner according to the Shapes Employee Handbook. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and contribute to Shapes 6S program and Lean concepts. Install hardware such as bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, nut plates and other hardware as instructed by customer specifications or engineering drawings or work orders. Remove burrs and polish all material types used . Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Job, Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Physical Demands:
Lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position and constantly re-position self to perform required tasks. Constantly operate machinery required for this job. May be required to work on slippery and uneven surfaces. May be exposed to physical hazards from moving equipment, heavy equipment, and machine parts. Specific coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. May work in close proximity to others.
Visual Acuity:
Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected. Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Read computer screen and documents.
Hearing Ability:
Normal hearing or corrected to normal. Monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
Working Conditions:
Factory environment. Occasional work outside normal business hours. High noise levels from operating machines. Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. Breathing fumes, dust, and mist. Skin exposure to chemicals associated with manufacturing.
