Job Description

Florida Solar Fix is looking for an experienced Lead Solar Technician to independently run residential solar jobs, troubleshoot systems, direct other technicians, communicate with customers, and help lead field operations. This is not an entry-level installer position. We need someone technically strong, dependable, responsive, and capable of taking ownership of jobs without constant supervision. Responsibilities Lead residential solar jobs from start to finish Perform PV removals/reinstalls, installations, repairs, troubleshooting, equipment replacement, and commissioning Diagnose and service Enphase and SolarEdge systems Install and service battery/storage systems Work with or learn off-grid and hybrid systems such as EG4 Perform solar-related electrical work including AC/DC wiring, breakers, disconnects, conduit, grounding, junction boxes, and inverter connections Install and service ground-mount systems Read wiring diagrams, plans, manuals, and manufacturer documentation Stay current with new solar technology and continuously learn new systems and equipment Learn solar pool heating installation, maintenance, and repair if not already experienced Direct and train helpers/technicians Maintain high workmanship standards and minimize callbacks Take complete job photos and notes Keep the office updated on delays, problems, additional work, or schedule changes Remain reachable during the workday and return missed calls promptly Communicate directly with customers when requested, including ETAs and updated ETAs Maintain accurate timekeeping and job statuses in company software Keep tools, materials, and truck inventory organized Required Several years of hands-on residential solar experience Strong Enphase and SolarEdge knowledge Strong solar/electrical troubleshooting ability Rooftop experience Ability to work independently and lead others Professional customer communication Valid driver's license Ability to work in Florida heat, on 1-2 story homes, steep roofs, ladders, and physically demanding rooftop conditions Preferred Battery/storage experience EG4 or other off-grid/hybrid system experience Ground-mount experience Solar pool heating experience Previous crew-lead or field-lead experience Schedule Most work is Monday through Friday, but hours can vary based on job volume, travel, weather, and project needs. Occasional weekend work may be required. Growth Opportunity We are looking for someone who can grow into a larger field operations and technical leadership role as Florida Solar Fix adds technicians and crews. Technical ability matters, but dependability, communication, ownership, and willingness to keep learning are equally important.
Pay:
$180.00 - $220.00 per day Application Question(s): How many years of hands-on residential solar experience do you have? Are you comfortable leading jobs, staying reachable during the workday, and communicating directly with customers about ETAs, delays, and job updates?
