In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining photovoltaic solar systems on various types of structures, including rooftops and ground-mounted sites. Your expertise will help accelerate the transition to sustainable energy sources while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop specialized skills in electrical and construction work, and contribute to impactful renewable energy projects. Responsibilities Install photovoltaic solar systems according to blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure precise installation of solar panels, inverters, wiring, and fixtures. Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and roofing equipment safely and efficiently during installation processes. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on photovoltaic systems to identify issues related to high voltage, low voltage, or system faults. Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures, NFPA 70 standards, and OSHA regulations for outdoor construction sites. Perform fixture installation, wiring connections, and system commissioning on commercial solar projects. Collaborate with team members on construction site activities including roofing work and site preparation to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain detailed documentation of installation procedures, inspections, and troubleshooting activities for quality assurance. Experience Prior experience working as a solar technician or in electrical installation roles involving photovoltaic systems is preferred but will train. Proven construction experience with outdoor work environments such as roofing or general site setup is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and blueprint interpretation related to solar or renewable energy projects. Familiarity with electrical safety procedures including NFPA 70 compliance for high voltage systems is essential.
