We troubleshoot them. Our technicians work on nearly every major inverter, battery, monitoring platform and racking system in the industry. Every day presents a new challenge, which means you'll continually expand your technical abilities instead of repeating the same installation over and over again. We're looking for an experienced Senior Remote Solar Service Technician to become the primary service technician for New York If you're looking for a position where you're trusted to work independently, solve difficult problems, and continually develop your technical skills, we'd like to hear from you. About the Position This is a home-based position. You'll be dispatched directly from your home each morning in a company-provided service vehicle and will primarily support customers throughout Southern New Jersey. Although Southern New Jersey will be your primary territory, you should expect occasional travel throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and other surrounding markets as business demands require. Travel may include commercial projects, emergency service work, training, storm response or supporting neighboring territories. This position is built for technicians who enjoy working independently and taking ownership of their territory. What You'll Do Troubleshoot residential and commercial photovoltaic systems Diagnose production issues Troubleshoot communication and monitoring failures Replace inverters, optimizers, disconnects and electrical components Perform advanced electrical diagnostics Lead complete removal and reinstallation projects Install critter guard and snow retention systems Investigate roof leak claims related to PV systems Complete professional service documentation Communicate directly with homeowners and commercial clients Maintain company vehicle, inventory and equipment Represent Solar Medix professionally at every customer interaction This Position Is For Someone Who... Enjoys solving difficult technical problems Can work independently with very little supervision Is organized and self-motivated Takes pride in producing quality work Enjoys learning new technology Communicates professionally with customers Can make sound decisions in the field Wants to become one of the best solar service technicians in the industry Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of photovoltaic troubleshooting experience Experience servicing residential and commercial solar systems Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read electrical schematics Experience diagnosing monitoring and communication issues Experience replacing inverters and major electrical components Roofing experience Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Comfortable working independently for the majority of each day Ability to travel overnight when required Preferred Qualifications Experience working with multiple manufacturers including: Inverters SolarEdge Enphase Tesla SMA Fronius APsystems Sol-Ark Sungrow GoodWe Growatt Chint Tigo EI Battery Systems Tesla Powerwall FranklinWH SolarEdge Home Battery Enphase IQ Battery Generac PWRcell Fortress HomeGrid Monitoring Platforms SolarEdge Monitoring Enlighten Tesla Solar.web APsystems EMA Sol-Ark Monitoring Racking Systems IronRidge Unirac SnapNrack EcoFasten QuickBOLT Professional Development Technicians who have completed online manufacturer certifications are strongly preferred.

Compensation Hourly Rate:
$26.00-$35.00 depending on experience

Hourly pay begins when you arrive at your first jobsite and ends when you depart your final jobsite. To compensate technicians for longer commutes, Solar Medix pays mileage for qualifying travel to the first job and from the final job when those trips exceed 30 miles from home. Mileage is currently paid at $0.30 per qualifying mile in accordance with company policy.
