Job Description

The dogs in your care belong to people who chose us because of our reputation. You're the reason that reputation holds. Dog Lab Texas provides hunting, obedience and protection training, along with boarding and transport, for clients who trust us with dogs they've invested a great deal in. We guarantee our training results. That guarantee starts in the kennel, with the right food at the right time, a clean run, fresh water, and someone paying close attention to every dog. As a Kennel Technician, that someone is you. What you get here Training that sets you up to succeed. You won't be thrown in and left to figure it out. We'll teach you our protocols step by step, so you always know what "done right" looks like. We'll also teach you how to train the dogs in our care. Leaders who notice. Our leadership is close to the work. Uniforms are provided, and good work gets recognized out loud. A team that carries its weight. Everyone here is held to the same standard, so you won't be covering for people who don't show up or don't care. A path forward. Kennel Technicians who show ownership get exposure to the training side of the business and the chance to take on more responsibility. Work you can be proud of. These aren't just pets passing through. They're working, sporting and family dogs, and their owners trust us completely. What you'll do Feed and hydrate. Run daily feeding routines on schedule and follow each dog's dietary instructions. Make sure every dog always has fresh, accessible water. Keep it clean. Clean and sanitize kennels, runs and common areas thoroughly and consistently, following our cleaning protocols to keep the facility hygienic and odor-free. Watch closely. Keep an eye on every dog for changes in behavior, appetite, energy or health. Spot early signs of stress, illness or injury and report them to the Kennel Manager right away. Handle safely. Help move and position dogs safely around the property. Keep control during every interaction, with no escapes and no escalations. Support the team. Help the Kennel Manager and Trainers with daily operational tasks, and assist with giving medications under supervision when needed. Keep everything ready. Clean, store and maintain tools, equipment and supplies. Keep work areas organized so the kennel is ready to go every day. Follow the protocol, every time. Follow all safety procedures without exception. Talk to the Kennel Manager about anything that seems off, and finish every task thoroughly, accurately and on time. What success looks like Every dog gets consistent, attentive care. The facility stays clean and sanitary. Problems get caught early and reported immediately. Your work gets done reliably, whether or not anyone is watching. Who thrives here You're dependable. When you're on the schedule, people can count on you. You notice details, like the full food bowl that should be empty or the dog that's quieter than yesterday. You're comfortable on your feet and working hard all shift. You speak up when something isn't right instead of hoping someone else catches it. What you bring Weekend availability is required, and Sunday availability is our biggest need. Flexibility to work weekday morning shifts and evening shifts when needed The physical stamina to stay on your feet, lift up to [X] lbs, and handle dogs of every size and temperament Reliable transportation to our Spring, TX property A plus: previous kennel, veterinary, boarding, daycare, or hands-on animal experience. If you don't have it but you're reliable, detail-oriented and willing to learn, we'll train you. Know before you apply We want you to come in with your eyes open: Our kennel is indoor, outdoor and property-based. You'll work through Texas heat, cold and rain. The work is physical and repetitive, and it has to be done right every time. Weekends aren't occasional here. They're a core part of the schedule. If that sounds like your kind of work, we'd like to hear from you.
