Normal business hours and as needed, and on-call availability as needed. This is a hybrid role, onsite in Orange, CA on Wednesdays and every other month for three days.

Purpose of Position:

The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, writing, reviewing, and maintaining business and technical requirements and related artifacts for a healthcare insurance related SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) application development initiative, while collaborating with team members.

Essential Functions:

Perform the business analysis activities listed below at a high level of competence, independence, minimal supervision, and within standards and principles defined by the supervisor or management . Support and engage in best practices, a culture of learning, and continual improvement for the business analysis activities below.

• Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring o Plan and execute an approach for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the stakeholders o High competence in Business Analysis skills and theory o Plan and execute business analysis: o Apply structured approaches to understanding problems to develop effective solutions, and ensure successful implementation
• Elicitation and Collaboration o Prepare for elicitation to understand the scope of the elicitation activity, and select appropriate techniques o Quickly assimilate new and different types of information o Adapt existing knowledge to current and future circumstances o Conduct elicitation to draw out, explore, and identify information relevant to the change o Confirm elicitation results to check the information gathered during an elicitation session for accuracy and consistency with other information o Communicate business analysis information to ensure stakeholders have a shared understanding of business analysis information o Manage stakeholder collaboration to encourage stakeholders to work towards a common goal • Requirements Life Cycle Management o trace requirements to ensure that requirements and designs at different levels are aligned to one another, and to manage the effects of change to related requirements o maintain requirements to retain requirement accuracy and consistency throughout and beyond the change during the entire requirements life cycle, and to support reuse of requirements in other solutions o assess requirements changes to evaluate the implications of proposed changes to requirements and designs o obtain agreement on and approval of requirements and designs for business analysis work to continue and/or solution construction to proceed • Requirements Analysis and Design Definition o specify and model requirements to analyze, synthesize, and refine elicitation results into requirements and designs o verify requirements to ensure that requirements and designs specifications and models meet quality standards and are usable for the purpose they serve o validate requirements to ensure that all requirements and designs align to the business requirements and support the delivery of needed value o define design options to define the solution approach, identify opportunities to improve the business, allocate requirements across solution components, and represent design options that achieve the desired future state • Miscellaneous Tasks in Support of Project Management and SDLC o Various assigned activities in support of project management or the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Perform other business tasks or functions as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• At least 5-8 years in a recent senior level Business Analyst role
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Relevant professional Business Analysis Certification(s) preferred:

CBAP, CCBA, or ECBA Term:

This is a contract role. It is expected, but not guaranteed, that the term will be at least six (6) months. Contract-to-hire conversion is a possibility but not guaranteed
