Description Job Title Strategic Planning Specialist Location Upper Marlboro, MD, US Organization Name Strategic Planning and Resource Management Department Description Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Strategic Planning and Change Management, the Strategic Planning Specialist will support and lead the collection, curation, analysis, visualization, and reporting of data to inform strategic planning, continuous improvement, and organizational decision-making. The incumbent of this position develops and maintains dashboards, reporting tools, and data collection applications that support the school systems strategic plan, the Local Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Consolidated Strategic Plan, other strategic initiatives. The Strategic Planning Specialist collaborates with departments to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and effective use of strategic data by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), developing meaningful data visualizations, and building organizational capacity for interpreting and using data to drive continuous improvement. The incumbent also supports data governance practices, reporting processes, and the development of analytical resources that improve organizational performance and accountability. $86,605 - $180,844

Detailed Description Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with supervisor and department staff to establish and maintain data collection, reporting, and performance monitoring processes that support the school systems strategic plan and Local ESSA Consolidated Strategic Plan ; Curates, validates, integrates, and analyzes data from multiple sources to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility for strategic planning, performance management, and reporting; Supports program staff and stakeholders to identify reporting needs, define performance measures, and translate business requirements into effective data solutions and reporting tools; Provides technical assistance, training, and capacity-building to district staff on accessing, interpreting, and applying data, dashboards, and performance reports to support continuous improvement; Researches, develops, and implements best practices for data management, reporting, visualization, and performance management to improve organizational effectiveness and operational efficiency; Develops, maintains, and enhances interactive dashboards, data visualizations, automated reports, and data collection applications that communicate organizational performance and progress toward strategic goals; Collaborates with external agencies that may participate in partnership grant applications; Monitors, tracks, and reports KPIs, providing timely analyses and performance summaries that support executive leadership and departmental decision-making; Leverages technology business intelligence and project management tools to streamline reporting processes, improve data accessibility, and enhance organizational transparency and accountability; Supports the preparation of data reports, presentations, and analytical narratives required for state and federal reporting, strategic planning, Board presentations, and other organizational priorities; and Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Proven experience in collecting, curating, integrating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support organizational planning, performance management, and continuous improvement, preferably in a K-12 education or public sector environment; Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining interactive dashboards, automated reports, data visualizations, and data collection applications using business intelligence and reporting tools; Knowledge of research methods, data management principles, and data quality assurance practices; Ability to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of organizational data; Ability to provide technical assistance and build the capacity of staff to access, interpret, and use data, dashboards, and performance reports to support continuous improvement; Demonstrated exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; Ability to communicate complex data and technical concepts to diverse audiences; Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional projects, and produce high-quality work products within established timelines; and Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis, reporting, visualization, and project management technologies used to support organizational performance and accountability. Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in education, business/public administration, communications, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred.? A minimum of four (4) years of successful experience in strategic planning, data analysis, performance reporting, or a related field, including experience analyzing complex data and developing reports to support organizational decision-making required.
