PURCHASING AGENT

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Purchasing Agent for a company based in Bessemer, AL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to specializes in electrical substation control buildings and communication shelters as an experienced Field Service Technician that can immediately contribute to increasing capacity within our Logistics Department. Pay Rate Pay is Strictly dependent on experience. Schedule and Hours Monday through Friday, 7 00 am to 4 30 pm. Purchasing Agent Duties and Responsibilities Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed Assist Purchasing Manager with Daily Tasks Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation. Communicate with Sales Representatives and Vendors Creating Purchase Orders Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery. Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents. Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders. Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payment. Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department. Procurement of Orders Placed by All Personnel Purchasing Agent Technician Qualifications and Requirements Ability to Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints Cost Accounting Customer Service and Vendor Relationships Documentation Skills Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Access) Knowledge of Electrical Components and Parts (Especially Square D Products) Knowledge of Fasteners as well as HVAC systems and parts Manufacturing Methods and Procedures Manufacturing Quality including Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Supply Management Tracking Budget Expenses Job Type Full-time Benefits Weekly Pay Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance 40 Hours Service Bonus after 1 year of continuous service and 1500 hours 6 paid Holidays after 1 year of continuous service and 1500 hours 401(k) R etirement P lan Automation Personnel Services is the only staffing agency specializing in manufacturing and industrial roles that offers 401(k) matching to all eligible contingent and temporary associates.
