Job Description

Job Summary Seohan Auto Georgia Corporation is seeking a Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing, material planning, supplier management, and supply chain operations at our automotive manufacturing facility. This position manages general purchasing activities while coordinating material requirements, inventory, supplier deliveries, logistics, and production-related supply chain matters. The employee will work closely with Korean headquarters, domestic and international suppliers, customers, and internal departments. The ability to conduct business communications in both Korean and English is required for this position. This role regularly communicates directly with Korean headquarters and suppliers whose primary working language is Korean regarding purchase orders, pricing, delivery schedules, technical changes, material shortages, and production disruptions. The position level may range from Entry-Level Specialist to Assistant Manager , depending on the candidate's education, relevant experience, technical knowledge, and qualifications. Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing and Procurement Manage purchasing activities for production materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services. Prepare, issue, review, and maintain purchase orders in accordance with company procedures. Request and evaluate supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other commercial conditions. Compare supplier proposals and provide sourcing and purchasing recommendations to management. Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, order status, delivery schedules, quality concerns, and purchasing issues. Support supplier selection, registration, evaluation, development, and performance monitoring. Assist with price negotiations, cost-reduction activities, and purchasing process improvements. Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, quotations, purchase orders, and supporting documentation. Review supplier invoices and resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and the Accounting Department. Support purchasing activities related to new products, engineering changes, and production launches. Supply Chain Management Review customer demand, production schedules, forecasts, supplier lead times, and inventory levels to determine material requirements. Coordinate material availability to prevent production shortages and delivery disruptions. Monitor open purchase orders, inbound shipments, supplier schedules, and expected delivery dates. Identify potential material shortages, excess inventory, obsolete materials, and supply chain risks. Follow up with suppliers regarding delayed shipments and develop recovery plans when necessary. Coordinate inbound transportation, shipment status, delivery documentation, and other logistics-related activities. Monitor supplier delivery performance and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Support inventory optimization and material flow improvement activities. Communicate production and delivery requirements to domestic and international suppliers. Assist in resolving urgent material, production, logistics, and supplier-related issues. Data Analysis and Cross-Functional Coordination Analyze purchasing, inventory, supplier, logistics, and delivery data using Excel, ERP, MRP, or similar systems. Prepare regular reports regarding purchasing costs, inventory levels, material shortages, supplier performance, and delivery status. Maintain and update accurate purchasing and supply chain information in company systems. Coordinate with Production, Materials, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Accounting departments. Communicate business matters and operational updates to Korean headquarters and company management. Participate in supplier meetings, internal meetings, audits, and training sessions. Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and supply chain stability. Exercise independent judgment when analyzing purchasing, inventory, delivery, and supplier issues within assigned authority. Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Ability to conduct professional business communications in both Korean and English, including speaking, reading, writing, email correspondence, meetings, and business documentation. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively with Korean headquarters, suppliers, customers, management, and U.S.-based employees. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate business records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or another related engineering or technical field. Engineering or another technical educational background is strongly preferred. Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, material planning, logistics, inventory control, or manufacturing operations. Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 automotive supplier experience. Experience with ERP, MRP, SAP, or similar business systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and inventory tracking. Experience communicating with international suppliers or an overseas headquarters organization. Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, supplier management, logistics, and purchase order processes. Recent college graduates and entry-level candidates who meet the education, job-related communication, and other qualification requirements are encouraged to apply.
