Associate Purchasing Analyst

Job Description

The Purchasing Analyst plays a critical role in supply chain and procurement operations, ensuring the organization maintains a competitive advantage through efficient and strategic purchasing practices. This position serves as a key liaison between the organization and its vendors, driving sourcing strategies, cost optimization, and supplier performance.
Essential Duties:
Analyze purchasing data, vendor performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and forecast inventory needs Assist buyers and procurement teams by preparing purchase orders, reviewing requisitions, and managing supplier contracts. Conduct cost analysis, validate pricing, and ensure compliance with contracts and procurement policies. Monitor supplier obligations, evaluate performance, and negotiate favorable terms to optimize costs and service quality. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, QMS, federal and state regulations, and industry standards. Assist with developing sourcing strategies, participate in annual price reviews, and support supply base optimization initiatives. Analyze product profitability and sales data. Prepare reports for management review. Maintain supplier pricing and purchasing records. Assist with supplier and purchasing activities. Support inventory and spending analysis. Act as backup for Buyer Assist with special projects as assigned. Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school or GED College degree preferred
Training & Experience:
Two (2) years or more of experience in manufacturing preferrable in Medical Device environment. Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret procurement data and identify trends. Proficiency in ERP systems and tools for purchasing and contract management. Knowledge of procurement regulations, cost analysis methods, and supply chain processes. Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
