Roseville, MN Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8 am- 5 pm,
Hybrid Position:
The Buyer plays a critical role in supporting patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality medical supplies and equipment at the best possible value. This position manages purchasing activities, monitors inventory levels through ERP systems, analyzes costs and supplier performance, and collaborates with clinical teams to meet patient care needs. The Buyer serves as a trusted product resource, develops strong supplier relationships, and identifies opportunities to improve processes, control costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency while maintaining a reliable flow of products to support exceptional patient care. Procurement of medical equipment and supplies including purchase order creation, reviewing order confirmations, and acting on necessary changes? Utilizes ERP to monitor and forecast inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and minimize waste Develops and maintains product knowledge to serve as a product expert and advocate? Assists in cost containment by utilizing group purchasing contracts, encouraging product standardization, and recommending inventory containment opportunities Identifies opportunities for process improvement, takes initiative in problem-solving, and seeks support from appropriate resources as needed Solicits price quotes and bids and analyze price proposals?? Responsible for growing supplier relationships with new and /or existing suppliers Assists clinical staff to identify alternate and substitute products as needed Analyzes materials and supplies to find ways to reduce cost and improve quality Maintains knowledge of current professional trends and practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing, supplier performance, and cost-savings opportunities Strong attention to detail; Ability to multi-task and prioritize Proficiency in MS Excel and other office applications Knowledge of ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience purchasing medical supplies, equipment, or healthcare-related products Knowledge of healthcare supply chain operations, materials management, and inventory control practices. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and product standardization practices
